Let’s face it–basically everything about weddings these days is expensive. So much of the industry has become over commercialized, and even for those who don’t want a glammed-out ceremony with 500 guests, the prices for everything (weddings and otherwise) have skyrocketed in recent years.

Sadly, this means many people forgo hiring a photographer to document one of the most important days of their lives. I’m aiming to change that. Whether you’re throwing a big bash on a budget, hosting an intimate a micro-wedding, eloping, or just having a party in your backyard, I’ve got a package that will fit your budget!

Hi, I’m Dan Kane, also known as “DT.” I am a photographer based in Ithaca, New York, and available to shoot events throughout Central and Western New York (or anywhere else you may want me to travel!). My business is just me and my camera. That both keeps costs down and guarantees a more personalized experience, enabling you to work one-on-one with the very photographer who wrote these words and captured all the photos shown here.

I’m also a storyteller. No matter the event, there’s a tale to be told. Together, we’ll create a photographic record of that narrative, giving permanence to memories so they last a lifetime. I love creating images that capture life’s important moments, and it’s a pleasure to see the joy my photographs bring to others.

I take a cooperative approach to photography, accepting as much or as little direction as you wish to give me. I find that candid photographs of spontaneous moments often make for the most treasured memories, but I’ll certainly shoot all the typical posed photos (e.g., family and wedding party group shots) as well, plus any others you request.

We’ll meet before your event and get to know one another. If you already have a vision, great! I’ll be quiet and listen while you lay out your plans. But if you aren’t certain, I’ll be ready with questions to help us design a perfect plan so you get the most out of your investment in my photography.

One thing I tell all my couples: cherish every moment, because it goes by so quick! My own wedding was great, but it passed in a flash, and it was impossible to spend as much time with all my friends and loved ones as I wanted to!

While I can’t alter the laws of physics, my camera and I can help you capture memories as if you were in more than one place at once, leaving you free to slow down and cherish every moment in real time!

• Pre-Wedding video call to discuss your special event, preferences, and create a personalized plan just for you!
• 4 hours of photography on the day of your event.
• Electronic delivery of all files (hi-res jpgs), lightly edited with professional software.
• Want more photos? Add additional time for just $125/hour!
• Physical prints are not included, but I can provide personalized pricing upon request for everything from single photos to heirloom-quality albums (Of course, you’re free to make as many prints as you want on your own using the electronic files I provide. After all, they’re your memories, I just helped you record them!)
• For events more than a 2-hour drive from Ithaca, NY, I charge a small fee to cover fuel and lodging (but if you’re far away, let’s still chat and see if we can work something out!)
