My Top 3 Fantasy Reads of 2020

Hi All! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and doesn’t have to do too much work this week leading up to the new year. I’ve got two quick things to share with everyone: (1) A deal on Bladesorrow; and (2) A quick list of my Top 3 reads from 2020.

1. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Bladesorrow yet, the ebook is currently 99 cents until January 1 on Amazon. If you have had a chance to read it, it would be a big help if you could take a minute to leave a review. Thank you! https://amzn.to/3ptxWVV

2. I read about three dozen books this year, which isn’t bad considering how much time I spend writing. Below are a few of my favorites. I hope you find them as enjoyable as I did!

I. The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Do you like mysteries? Do you like magic? Then you’ll love Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional, crime-solving wizard. The Dresden Files series currently has 17 novels, each of which focuses on Harry solving a mystery that resolves around some sort of supernatural creature: vampires, werewolves, faries, etc. The first book is Storm Front: https://amzn.to/3aJvxCq

II. Promise of Blood (Power Mage Trilogy, Book 1), by Brian McClellan. The book starts out with a seemingly ordinary military coup to overthrow a monarchy, until you realize some of the soldiers are actually “powder mages” who draw magical power from gunpowder. The novel features several entertaining, well-written characters and an interesting magic system. https://amzn.to/3aOtpZX

III. Gideon the Ninth (The Locked Tomb Trilogy 1), by Tasmyn Muir. Lesbian Necromancers. In Space. That about sums it up. Irreverent, yet surprisingly tender in spots, Gideon is a great read if you’re looking for something a little different but still in the fantasy genre. https://amzn.to/38LjW2W

I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!
